HOLGER KOEFOED (b.1945). Master's degree in art history with a thesis on Lars Hertervig, 1972. Has worked at NRK, the National Museum and at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Has published many professional books, including two on Lars Hertervig, and as a pensioner he has led new research projects, including on L.Hertervig: “A life with Lars Hertevig.”

MAJA PAULINE BANG HAUGSGJERD (b. 1984) lives and works in Oslo. She has a bachelor's degree in ceramics and a master's degree in fine arts, both from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. After graduating from her master's degree in 2019, she has had solo exhibitions at Van Etten in 2020, and at Salgshallen in 2023. She has also participated in a number of group exhibitions. Her previous background is connected to environments rooted in psychiatry and psychotherapy.

Art historian and author Holger Koefoed in conversation with Maja Pauline Bang Haugsgjerd, on the topic of Lars Hertevig's life and work as a painter. The event is part 2 of the conversation series on the theme "Art and Psyche" at Galleri Dikemark. Koefoed leads an ongoing research project on Hertevig's texts, and has also written several texts and books, including "Stillhet og lys" from 2008 about Hertevig's life, with a particular focus on his upbringing in the Quaker community in the 19th century and how this has influenced him as a painter. This will be the starting point and theme for the conversation.
