ABOUT DIKEMARK KUNSTARENA (DKA)
Dikemark Art Arena was established in 2021. DKA produces and disseminates exhibitions, and arranges seminars and courses for the art field.
As a result of the closure of Oslo University Hospital's operations at Dikemark and the upcoming process surrounding the acquisition of the property, Dikemark Kunstarena wants to facilitate the art community at Dikemark with its value creation to take part in the development at Dikemark and be included in the long-term site development at Dikemark.
DKA will contribute to the development of a cultural industry cluster in the city center, including identifying potential for involving other actors, as well as contributing to the work of assessing the possibilities of facilitating studios in the Bjerget building, the Laundry or other relevant buildings. Finally, we will also contribute to the work of working, in collaboration with OUS and the Museums of Akershus (MiA), to further develop the hospital museum into a full-fledged museum.
In the fall of 2020, Trafo Kunsthall commissioned by Asker kommune to contribute to the use of Galleri Dikemark. The assignment has been extended until 2024. During this period, Trafo Kunsthall facilitate exhibition activities, events, workshops and seminars, as well as assess the possibilities for joint workshops, art labs, artist-run activities and Artist in Residence in the Dikemark area.
