POLISH AFTERNOON AT TRAFO KUNSTHALL

Trafo Kunsthall has the pleasure of inviting you to "Polish Afternoon" on Sunday, April 16th at 2:00 PM. The event is a collaboration between Trafo Kunsthall and Sabina Wydra.
In 1971, seven-year-old Hans Hamid Rasmussen moved with his mother and siblings from Algeria to Østfold, Norway. In the exhibition "Uneven Transitions" on display at Kunsthallen, Rasmussen shows photographic works from both the city of Algiers and Oslo's Old Town - two districts he has strong ties to, and has lived in himself.
In 2023, the Polish part of the population will constitute the largest minority in Norway. "Uneasy Transitions" forms a visual and artistic context when we open the doors of the Kunsthallen next Sunday with a desire to create a common space for exchanging different experiences in the encounter with art. After all, art provides a unique opportunity to combine different experiences from the "lived life" - joy, hope, peace and strength, which can positively contribute to counteracting feelings of alienation and promoting coexistence, integration and a sense of community.
