AUDUN JANSEN HAGA
THOMAS BREMERSTEN

Audun Jansen Haga
* THE LOBBY

Audun Jansen Haga works mainly with ceramics. In his artistic practice, he looks at the broad-mindedness and peculiar logic of childhood. This is expressed in the choice of motifs and themes: sharp claws and lightning-fast planes, Bible stories and records, volcanoes, star births and bombs. This affects the visual, which is concrete and rough, as well as the creative process; which is based on association games, the collection of natural materials and experimental firing techniques. The result is poetic, with an epic touch, and a hint of something dark and underground, with a faint echo of a hawk's cry.

Audun Haga (b. 1992, Arendal) has a bachelor's degree in ceramics from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. He also holds a journeyman's certificate as a ceramist and a professional certificate as a glass craftsman. Previous works have been shown in duo and group exhibitions at Galleri Seilduken (KhiO), Oslo (2020/2021/2022), at Kunstplass Contemporary Art, Oslo (2021) Salgshallen Kunstutsalg (2021) and at Drøbak Kunstforening (2022).

Thomas Bremerstent
* PROSJEKTROMMET

In his practice, Thomas Bremerstent works mainly with sculpture, where he explores form and material, social and political issues, and the relationship between architecture, power, space and control. Bremenstent works figuratively and experimentally in a variety of materials and practices classical as well as modern techniques. In this, he implants alternative methods such as the investigation of form and material. This is most often an attempt to see what can arise in the friction between esoteric symbolism and materials that point towards late capitalist society. Consistent motifs in his works are mythical beings, these become representations and illustrations that can be linked to stories and memories.

Thomas Bremerstent (b. 1992, DK) lives and works in Oslo, where he also studied at the Oslo Academy of Fine Arts (KHiO). Bremerstent runs the two artist-run exhibition spaces Løvens Hule and Celin. Past exhibitions include a number of group exhibitions, including at Plum Trim (2019) and Salgshallen (2021), and solo exhibitions at Galleri Memphis (2021), and Vestfold Art Center (2022).

Saturday, October 1st at 1:00 PM the Sales Hall will be open at Trafo Kunsthall with an exhibition by Audun Jansen Haga and Thomas Bremerstent. Opening speech by Ida Falck Øien, associate professor of clothing and costume design at KHiO, and initiator of HAiKw - a collaborative platform for clothing and art.

Finissage with a tour of the exhibitions on October 30, 2022.

Salgshallen is an experimental and independent gallery in Oslo with the goal of strengthening the position of art in everyday culture. Salgshallen therefore wants to show and communicate art in a variety of different exhibition venues, in addition to their own exhibition space. This includes both traditional exhibition spaces, galleries, businesses and other public spaces. Trafo Kunsthall welcomes the collaboration with Salgshallen: Audun Jansen Haga and Thomas Bremerstent. The exhibition also marks a new beginning for Trafo Kunsthall by introducing Prosjektrommet and Vestibyl as new art exhibition venues. The halls will be dynamic arenas for art projects, workshops and exhibitions.
