There are two interpretations of the word rekreasjon : one which is a form of recreation and relaxation; the other of a more existential nature - to re-create, recreate oneself, that is, to find again something that one believes is lost or gone.
Going for a walk is a strong part of Norwegians' understanding of good health and a healthy lifestyle. But who can go for a walk? Do they have the right to go for a walk? Are they allowed to go for a walk? And where do we travel, walk and move to improve, re-create and recreate ourselves? These are questions that tell us something about which structures influence us in everyday life, which spaces shape us. This is also evident in the history of Dikemark Psychiatric Hospital, where both nature and physical activity have been seen as a holistic form of treatment for body and mind. Through a performance piece, a lecture and a conversation, the project Have you had a walk? will look into these questions from different perspectives.
Have you had a chance? A reorientation trail (performance)
Based on the body as a universal language and fundamental tool for experience, artist Regine Stensæth Josefsen invites you to a guided walk in Dikemark Psychiatric Hospital. Sykehus 'historic outdoor area. Through wonder and humor, the audience is taken on a performative reorientation in this landscape.
Lecture and conversation
After the performance, there will be a lecture on the connection between architecture, welfare and health by architectural historian Even Smith Wergeland (AHO), followed by a conversation with Josefsen, led by Anna Ulrikke Andersen (NTNU). The project is supported by Kulturdirektoratet cultural preservation and visual arts, and builds on Andersen's research on architecture and chronic illness at NTNU in Trondheim.
The lecture has limited space and requires registration. [FULLY BOOKED]
